Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
- Douglas Adams

Nobody i know actually tries that. To put their weight behind them and jump forward face down without any padding or protection, knowing that it'll hurt like hell when their face makes contact with the ground.

It's a lot like falling in love isn't it? Nobody would allow themselves to get thrown into love unless they've been in a steady relationship for some time. Seems to me, people are really afraid to love. The fear of falling without someone catching you before you hit the ground is too strong.

I remember reading something along the lines of this:
in order to miss the ground, one must truly KNOW and BELIEVE that he can fly. If done correctly, the person will fly, if not, the person will probably fall, curse, take a piss and give up.

So logically speaking, what are the chances of gravity giving way when you believe you can fly and take the leap? What are the chances of finding love when you believe you can, and blindly throw yourself into it?

I believe I've taken the leap a loooooooooong time ago and i ended up lying face down in the mud, refusing to get up, lamenting the world and life. But i won't think twice about making the leap again - the thrill of falling is just too exciting for me to resist.

Maybe someday I'll learn how to do it right. Maybe someday, gravity will give way and I'll soar.

So are you gonna learn to fly with me or are you too scared of it? ;)
